A little bit more
This is Tom, who is small, male, black & white and 8 years’ old. He has come into HFC foster care because his owner sadly became unwell and has reluctantly had to move into permanent care.
Tom is a friendly cat, who loves to be the centre of attention. He is very affectionate, gently handing you his paw to let you know when he would like a fuss and, once he gets to know you, “making biscuits” on your lap. He loves his food (particularly treats) and to lie by a warm fire.
Tom can be a little enthusiastic when playing with his favourite fishing rod toy and balls and, therefore, has potential to live alongside adults or a family with respectful children, aged 6+. He is mostly a quiet cat, saving up all his conversation for when he travels in his cat basket, which he doesn’t enjoy very much!
Tom, who was previously neutered, has received a dental and been brought up-to-date with vaccinations and received preventative flea and worm treatment. During his HFC health check, Tom was diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism, a condition causing his thyroid to create too many hormones. To ensure he stays happy and feeling well, Tom will need to receive medication twice a day, simply served into gastro-intestinal food, potentially on a long term basis. He will also need to have regular vet check-ups to ensure he receives the minor adjustments needed to his medication levels.
To support Tom’s ongoing health, HFC is willing to offer both advice and financial support to his adopter, with a 50% contribution towards the cost of his ongoing treatment for this condition. Tom would like to find a home where he can be the only pet. This will both enable him to enjoy lots of attention and ensure his medication can be administered accurately.
Tom is feeling better and is now ready to meet potential adopters at his new foster home in Cranleigh. If you would like to offer him a loving home that has safe, outside space, and you are able to be at home at regular times in the morning and evening to provide his food and medication, please help us to help Tom and apply to adopt him today. Thank you
